The CropTalker is an IoT device designed for advanced monitoring of horticultural crops. It enables the analysis of plant growth through a LiDAR ToF sensor, which generates a low-resolution depth image of 8×8 pixels, useful for detecting structural variations and vegetative development.

The device is also equipped with a 28-band spectrometer, which allows the assessment of nutrient use efficiency and plant health status through indicators such as nitrogen content, chlorophyll levels, and the possible presence of nutrient deficiencies.

To complete the measurements, the system also records key environmental parameters, such as air temperature and humidity, providing a comprehensive overview of the growing conditions.
